EPISODE 11
Mama was assassinated in a twinkle of an eye. Her blood was free-flowing from her skull.
I told the Doctor shortly what had happened.
They ran out, carried mama inside, and commenced treatment. But unfortunately, mama had answered the call of nature.
I was silent like a mouse when the doctor shook her head regrettably.
"She's dead" she uttered with her voice shaky.
I breathed down heavily. Verily, my heart shattered - I was dumbfounded.
Tears trickled down my countenance when the nurses covered mama with the blanket.
I was knackered and I knew so well the howling wouldn't bring mama back.
Of course, she was killed by her stepdaughter. Only because she didn't send me away, only because she saw me and had pity for me.
"Oh! my God!" I shouted as I sprawled out on the floor.
A beautiful Nurse held me tightly.
"Stop Crying dear, it won't bring her back to life" she muttered.
"Mama was a good woman, we stayed not quite long and the love she had for me was unconditional" I exclaimed.
"I know she loves you but she had answered the call of nature," she said.
I got up instantly with tears watering down my cheeks. I was heading to the house to break the news to Oluchi because I was in doubt if she was the one who plotted all that transpired.
I ran like a chicken with its head cut off until I reached the house.
It was not so far and not so nigh.
I went to the parlor directly ignoring all questions asked by Akpan the gateman.
Lo and behold, I saw four gigantic men sitting on the couch.
They were staring at me as though they had fury in their minds.
My heart hammered and wanted to sink inside my belly.
On the spur of the moment, Oluchi came out with an enormous amount of wrapped money in her hands.
"Who are you?" She asked, "and what are you doing here?"
I was down in the mouth "Mama was assassinated" I shouted "she has been taken to the mortuary at the hospital"
" it is fait accompli, it had happened and cannot be changed" she roared like a lion
"Get her, here" she commanded.
Her boys tied and seized me. I was locked inside a dark room which has no window and it wasn't spacious.
The room was utterly narrow.
My eyes were in gloominess. It was daytime but darkness was all that was visible in that room.
The next day, she came to where I was kept and she said so many things.
It was depressing and surely I would die gently as said by Oluchi.
She said I came to scatter her home, that she'll flog me to death.
Your head will be pressed with an electric iron.
And I will plug your eyes out, it will be used as meat for my festive meal.
