The Intentions of the Heart

Why do you do what you do or why are you going to  do what you are about to do?

1Corinth. 13v3

"If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing"

May all our labour in God's vineyard not be in vain in Jesus name

But seriously, Give away all I have? Deliver my body to be burned? Really? A man can do all this without LOVE? It really seems impossible.

This is more of the intentions of the heart, our motives for doing things. Why are we doing what we are doing?

Someone can give away all he has and yet not out of love? So the question is why did he/she do that? Our motive for doing a thing is more important than what we are doing.

Sometimes we do somethings for fame and appraisals, some do things out of compulsion [I must do it so they will not talk] and some do things out of love which should be our ultimate motive for doing anything.

Even Jesus said in John 14 verse 15 that “If you love me, keep my commandment” meaning that even keeping the commandment of God should be based on the fact that we love him. If I may ask, why do we keep the commandment of God? Is it because of some other reasons other than the fact that we love him? Then those reasons are not strong enough, the reason should be because we LOVE GOD. Is our service to God in his vineyard out of love for him? We gain nothing if it is not out of love.

If the basis of our service is not based on the fact that we love God, We gain nothing.

Even all the sacrifice Jesus paid on the cross was because of love, the love he has for us [mankind]; it would have been of no effect if it was not based on LOVE.

LOVE NEVER FAILS

If we do anything out of love, success is guaranteed. It is not about what you are doing, but why are you doing it? That is why GOD weighs the intent of the heart of a man because it is acceptable when our motive for doing it is genuinely out of LOVE than any other reason.

Please let us genuinely ask ourselves this question again: Why am I doing what I am doing? Because it is actually more important than what we are doing.

May GOD help us all to serve him, obey him out of love in JESUS name

[AMEN].
