A GREAT SUFFERING IS COMING
Now that we know that PRISON was part of his story; had another prophet told him of this beforehand, maybe, he would have questioned the possibility, for he occupied a prominent part by calling: FORERUNNER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
John 16 vs 33
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world, you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]
God knew prison was coming and He allowed it. This is quite strange to many modern-day bread-and-butter believers. Some even teach that John the Baptist made a mistake to have spoken against the king's adultery. The same people, like Peter, would have urged Christ not to go to the CROSS. THEY ARE NOT READY TO SUFFER ANYTHING FOR HIS SAKE.
They are spoilt, confounded, and pleasure crazy. Since it is not wise of a Christian to run foolishly into persecution, notwithstanding, when we have to pay the price, we must not deny what we stand for. YOU BETTER BE READY, A GREAT PERSECUTION (TRIBULATION) IS COMING.
God allows struggle and difficult times because we are sinners and we all come short of the glory of God. God loves us, but because of our sinful nature, He allows these things to happen
Yes, there will be rapture, but before that, there is going to be trembling. Many Christians will be faced with great warfare and torment by the government, hunger, killings, poverty, deceptions, 24-hour surveillance, church regulations, torture camps, etc are coming soon, so much so that even imprisonment will seem like the easiest option. BE READY.
The rapture will not come before the man of sin is revealed, though God will take His saints before He pours out His Vails of JUDGEMENT. Be ready!
When you find yourself in an ordeal or when hardship comes your way:
- Look to the Lord first.
- Pray and ask God for wisdom.
- Wait upon the Lord.
- Throw off the things that hinder you and fix your eyes on Jesus.
- Allow the word of God to fill your heart and then wait upon the Lord some more.
- 1: Trials that come from our sins or faults.
- 2: Trials that happen because this is a fallen world, full of sickness, diseases, and fallen people.
- 3: Trials that God is willing for us to experience because He wants us to grow.
