EPISODE 21
I sneezed repeatedly when I returned to the earth. The door to the darkroom was locked and I sat down on the stool I saw there.
Instantly, Ben who disguised to be Richard entered and I hid the bracelet behind my back. He switched on the bulb in the darkroom and everywhere was full of light.
He pointed fingers at me telling me that he had killed Madam Iron and that Oluchi was the next on his list. That he told her everything that happened before killing her.
Then he roared "You're the last on my list"
I sniggered without uttering a word. He is a wraith and I have gone to their land and also returned so I wasn't afraid of him anymore.
He saw me chuckling and was up in his arms.
"Oh! Are you laughing," he asked.
He didn't get any response from me so he left angrily.
A few minutes later, Oluchi was inside the darkroom when she heard some noise from the living room.
She saw me and her blood ran cold. She knew I drank the sniper and seeing me healthy again made her heart keep missing a beat.
Forthwith, she knelt begging me that I should forgive her for what she had done to me.
I knew she doesn't deserve to be forgiven but on second thought, I decided to forgive her.
Her actions unveiled some secrets and I was glad.
"You've been forgiven, Aunty" I verbalized as though I was over the moon.
Oluchi hugged me and then told me that she and Richard are going to Ben's village to meet the kinsmen as she wanted to tell them all that happened and as well beg for forgiveness.
She left immediately and locked the darkroom.
"Aunty, why are you locking the room?" I asked her.
"That's your home, you'll stay there till I am done with you" she replied with a loud voice.
Then, she left with fury in her heart.
I was caught unawares -
"Isn't she the one who asked for forgiveness?" I asked myself.
Some moments later, I heard the sound of the car horn as they started their journey. They blew the horn repeatedly because the gateman was in his slumber, he loves sleeping.
Sleeping was his avocation.
A few hours later, Ben who feigned to be Richard entered and I told him that I was hungry and that my stomach growls.
He looked at me scornfully and left.
I thought he wouldn't prepare or bring food for me but my thoughts were wrong.
Ben brought an Egusi soup with eba.
Plenty of meat was inside it and I enjoyed it.
When I finished eating, Ben entered laughing loudly.
"You've just eaten food cooked with the human body" He exclaimed "I strangled Oluchi on our way and guess what? You just ate her body"
