THE TEST
My father hindered me from entering his house so I left for Onitsha to stay with my Aunty.
At first, she welcomed me, then in a twinkling of an eye, she pushed me away insinuating that I'll snatch her husband from her.
I had no money on me so I was just sitting near the tarred road crying my eyes out.
At dusk, the street lights were glittering brightly as I spread my wrapper near an uncompleted building and lay down waiting for the light to overcome darkness once more.
In the morning, I woke up and found out that my baggage have been stolen.
The time was 8:00 am and I was running around searching for my lost baggage when I saw Kate, my friend.
She asked me what transpired and I narrated everything to her. She now told me that she saw Olivia and Eric coming out from an eatery and that she heard they were having a proposal party that weekend.
I started shivering and tears blurred my eyes.
Olivia was a good friend of mine who had always been actuating on important issues. I couldn't believe she can do that to me.
Kate held me closely.
"Stop crying, all will be fine" she motivated.
I couldn't stop. My heart kept skipping a bit pondering how my close friend would do such to me.
“Kate, what are you doing in Onitsha," I asked, “you are supposed to be in Lagos”.
“I came here to see a friend who is having a birthday” she replied “I would like to take you with me”
“I would also want to buy shoes for him as a birthday gift," Kate said.
“Where can we buy shoes in this area," I asked.
"Haven't you heard of DanSar stores? An online fashion store" She queried.
"No, what's it all about?” I returned.
“It is a fashion brand that sells corporate shoes, sneakers, wedding/Engagement rings, handbags, slippers, gowns, crossing bags, backpacks, and other fashion accessories” she replied “ They deliver nationwide and promptly”
“When you place an order with DanSar stores, it will get delivered to you within 24hrs if you're in Lagos, but outside Lagos, you'll get it in 2 days or maximum,” Kate said again.
“How can we reach out to them because I only have jeans and a polo with me hence my baggage was stolen, a sneaker will match with it,” I asked thoughtfully.
“You can reach out to them on WhatsApp at 07065336863 and also follow their Facebook page @DanSar stores ” she replied “Their integrity, transparency, and customer service matter to them a lot”
“Thank you so much, I'll place an order if possible I have," I said with joy in my heart.
“you need to do that, you don't stand the chance of missing this opportunity” she returned positively.
Kate and I left instantly. we booked a hotel and invited Kate's friend to come and see us.
He was full of smiles knowing full well that he lives close to the hotel.
A few minutes later, we heard some knocks on the door. We opened the door happily as though we were expecting someone.
"Get them, they'll be used for rituals" Kate's friend Ugo ordered two tall muscular men.

Kate and I booked a hotel and Kate invited her friend Ugo who was having his birthday the next day to come and meet us at the hotel.
Luckily, his apartment was close to the hotel.
A few minutes later, we heard some insistent knocks on the door. Kate reached the door. Happily. Rejoicing as though she was over the moon.
She had been longing to see the friend she met online.
Immediately, she opened the door. We saw Ugo with two gigantic men. Their faces were frightening. Very scary that my heart didn't stop thumbing.
"Get them, they'll be used for rituals," Ugo said as the two figures captured us. They held us tightly in our hands.
It was night already and the hotel was filled with people. People were dancing to the music played by the disc Jockey.
The music was booming and everyone was full of joy and spring.
Then, Ugo and his men pushed us out. We shouted but no one heard us. With pressure, we entered the car and we were taken away.
A moment later, we got to a tall building. We were locked in a room littered with human skulls. We also saw an iron table and a sharpened knife.
I tried to grab the knife but something resisted me. I tried countlessly. Continuously but I couldn't. I was frightened. And that alone gave me the heebie-jeebies.
There was also a mirror on the wall and it had no reflection. I couldn't see myself in the mirror. Kate too couldn't.
Right away, the lights went off. The room was dim. Very dark. We were crawling on the floor trying to find the switch but an Icy finger gripped my arm in the darkness.
I was panic-stricken. I looked up and saw a silhouette figure. The figure had yellow eyeballs. The figure had long nails. I felt it.
"You're gone" the figure thundered. The voice shook the ground.
Shrill cries echoed in the mist. And the light was restored. Kate looked at me shouting and screaming your left eye has been plugged out.
I didn't feel it. Truly. I doubted her until I saw dark blood dropping to the ground.
Forthwith, the two huge men entered and took Kate away.
"You're next in line," they said as they carried Kate away. From the strange room. She would likely be butchered. I said in my mind.
